Talooki ("we," "our," or "us") operates Langlog interactive flashcard android application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Application.
1. Information We Collect
A. User Data & Application Content (Local First)
- Local Data (Default): All user-created data, study sets, and files remain stored strictly locally on your device. This data is encrypted on-device using SQLCipher and Google Tink cryptography frameworks within an encrypted Room Database and DataStore.
- Optional Google Drive Backup: If you choose to enable the cloud backup feature, your app data is uploaded directly to your personal Google Drive account (appDataFolder scope). We do not host, own, or access your backup files on external servers.
B. Authentication & Account Data
- Google Sign-In: Used solely to authorize access to your personal Google Drive for user-initiated backups.
- Account Tokens: Secure tokens generated via Android Credentials API to maintain your Google authentication state locally.
C. Biometric Data
- If enabled, the Application utilizes Android’s BiometricPrompt for local device lock/unlock capability.
- Note: We do not collect, store, or transmit biometric data. All biometric processing is handled entirely on-device by your operating system.
D. Crash & Diagnostic Data
We use Firebase Crashlytics to monitor app stability and performance. Data collected automatically includes:
- Crash logs and stack traces.
- Device information (OS version, device model, hardware orientation).
- System state details at the time of a crash.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to:
- Encrypt and store your application data safely on your device.
- Sync your backup files directly to your personal Google Drive when requested by you.
- Authenticate your Google identity for cloud backup permissions.
- Monitor app performance, fix bugs, and prevent crashes via Firebase Crashlytics.

- Local Encryption: On-device databases and preference stores are protected using SQLCipher and Google Tink AES-256 encryption.
- Cloud Security: Manual or scheduled backups sent to your Google Drive are governed by Google's cloud security standards and are accessible only by your Google account.While we implement industry-standard cryptography, no electronic storage method or wireless transmission is 100% secure.
5. Data Control & Deletion
- Deleting Local Data: You can delete all local data at any time via your device settings (Settings > Apps > Langlog > Storage > Clear Data) or by uninstalling the Application.
- Deleting Backup Data: You can remove your backup files at any time by managing your connected apps inside your Google Drive Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
The Application does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate action.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
